When it comes to cardmaking, it’s easy to overthink a design. Today’s Tips & Tricks is a reminder that sometimes the simplest approach creates the most beautiful results — especially when you’re working with gorgeous Designer Series Paper.
For these cards, I used the Lovely Blossoms DSP and kept the layout clean and minimal. By adding just a few layers, the paper naturally becomes the star of the card. The patterns, colors, and artwork already bring so much personality, so there’s no need to compete with them.
One of my favorite ways to create cards quickly (without sacrificing style) is to:
-
Start with a bold DSP panel
-
Add a neutral mat to help it pop
-
Finish with a simple sentiment and a small embellishment
This approach is perfect when you want to make multiple cards, need something fast, or just want to enjoy crafting without the pressure of complicated techniques.
Remember — simple doesn’t mean plain. It means intentional, beautiful, and stress-free creating. Let your paper do the work and enjoy the process.
I hope this tip inspires you to pull out your favorite DSP and start creating with confidence. Happy crafting!
